Spellchecking in Firefox

By the Mountain Man

Steps for doing spellchecking in Firefox

  1. Install a dictionary add-on
  2. Restart Firefox
  3. Type “about:config” in the address bar
  4. Promise that you will be care full :-)
  5. Filter the configurations for “layout.spellcheckDefault”
  6. Double click the “layout.spellcheckDefault” line
  7. Change the value to “2”
  8. Select OK
  9. Close and Open Firefox
  10. Now test on any text field or text box (you should get a red underline when a word is spelt wrong)

At this moment I prefer to have the following Firefox Add-ons:

  1. XMarks (To sync my bookmarks and passwords)
  2. Download them all (for fast downloads)
  3. Firebug (wicked debugging in Firefox)
  4. Dictionary (British for me)
  5. Web Developer
